Officially Eating Veggies and Fruits!

Well...no fruits just yet! We have to get through the all the yummy vegetables first. And being the cool mommy that I am, we have started with peas! To add to our list of things to do...we are making Harrison's baby food! Well, I am making it at least :) I am cheating though and purchased the Beaba Babyfood Maker. It is fabulous! http://www.beabausa.com

So far we have made peas and sweet potatoes. Harrison really took to the food pretty easy. During all my babyfood making research I kept reading about how "your baby might be picky" or "may only eat a spoonful or two". Umm... not this baby! Needless to say, we might not find a food Harrison doesn't like.

These past two weekends have been quite busy. Friday, August 7th was a big day in several ways. My cousin Andrew and his wife Rachael had their beautiful little girl Everleigh Jaye. We were lucky enough to visit them on Sunday. She is precious! Instead of Scott taking a picture of me with her, he accidentally got a little video. She is crying and it is so cute :)



Harrison also had a pediatrician visit on Friday. He weighs in at 18 pounds and 28 inches long. He is doing great. I got a cute picture of him on my phone before the dreaded shots :(

Along with all of this excitement was also Scott's grandma's birthday. So we packed up Harrison that Saturday and headed down the the Kemah area for her birthday! We met Scott's brother and his wife there and had a wonderful lunch. Along with their two girls Sabryn and Shae, Harrison got some good photo ops with the birthday girl.
Scott's brother and his family then came and stayed the night with us. We had a great time playing Wii Resort :) and watching Sabryn demonstrate the fine art of balancing a yorkie on her head! Harrison really enjoyed watching his cousins run around. It will be fun to see them playing together in the future!

I will end this long post with the big news of the eruption of Harrison's teeth, letters O and P (lower incisors). Perfectly on schedule at 6 months! I tried and tried again to take pictures, however I am going to have to wait until more tooth structure is visible.

The night tooth O broke through, Harrison started doing this open and closing his mouth REALLY big thing. We thought it was so cute and funny...so you can only guess that we took more pictures and a little video clip!

Almost Six Months!

Harrison has been busy eating oatmeal cereal, starting to sit up a little and impressing us with his reaching and grabbing skills. Mostly grabbing my hair (now I realize why most moms cut their hair short ) and any toy or drink in front of him. We recently purchased this cute little seahorse that glows and plays soft music. It is his favorite! He goes to sleep listening to it at night.
Speaking of nights, we are very fortunate to have a baby that likes to sleep! Harrison usually gives us a good 10-12 hours each night, and 1-2 little cat naps during the day :) Growing boys need a lot of sleep I guess...

He also loves his bath time! We now end up with more water outside the tub then I ever thought a 6 month old could manage. But he absolutely loves it! Here are some pictures from tonight's bath. Thank you Andrew for teaching me how to make my camera do that color thing. I feel so professional. I am sure everyone will agree ;)

We have his 6 month doctor appointment next Friday so I will have to post with his new "stats". He usually does really well with his shots a sleeps it off like everything else. Reminds me a lot of his Daddy.

It has been a while...

And we have been very busy with our 5 month old little boy! Little might not be the best word to describe him due to his most recent visit to the doctor. At 5 months Harrison weighs in at 17 pounds 5 ounces and is 26 inches long. 95th percentile in both areas!

This was an unplanned doctor visit due to Harrison having a little cough that was making me a little concerned :( Everything is okay though! Seems that he might be a little sensitive to my sister's maltese...so she had to go back to The Woodlands today. It was fun while it lasted :) Poor Sophie!

We also had his pictures taken for the first time and they turned out great! He was quite the baby model. Two of my favorites are up in the header!

Harrison Scott

Our little boy was born on February 9th, 2009 at 5:43 pm. Harrison was 8 pounds 7 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. After a little bit of a rough start and a week long stay in the NICU, he is safe and sound at his new home! Everything with his health has checked out perfect since he has been home with us. We could not be happier or more blessed! Scott and I thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during that time. We are very thankful for all of our family and friends!

So..things are a little different at our house! Not a lot of sleep going on, but Harrison's days and nights have started to turn into our days and nights! Thank goodness :) We have really been enjoying all of our time with him. It is amazing how someone so small can takeover so quickly. Harrison is 1 month old today. That month went by really fast! We are having "tummy time" sessions during the day and he is already starting to track us and things around the house that catch his eye. He is also finding his voice! Too cute! Here are a few pictures. Most of the pictures I have emailed out already, but I will put them on here anyway!

Harrison's Nursery

Here are a few pictures from Harrison's Nursery. There are still a few more pictures and a lamp and rug on the way. Restoration Hardware has been a bit of a nightmare when placing orders. EVERYTHING I ever like is on back order :( So...I love the bedding and the furniture and very thankful to everyone who purchased these gifts for us! It is just how I imagined it :) I will take a full room view once I get the other items in.

I worked my last day on Wednesday, January 21st. Just before 38 weeks. I was going to try to work through the rest of this week, but I am tired and ready to have at least a little time off to get things done around the house. But now my time has been consumed by a husband with the flu (great timing, I know) and organizing things around the house. Oh, and cleaning baseboards. There has been a sudden need for me to clean baseboards :)

So, we are just waiting around for Harrison to choose his birthday. He missed two of my friends, my brother, mother-in-law and grandma's birthdays. We will have to see if he goes past his due date and picks mine or my Aunt Jane's. Scott is betting on Super Bowl Sunday. Should be fun to see!

Holidays!

Scott and I decided to start this blog in order to keep family and friends updated on all of our upcoming events. The biggest event being the arrival of our little baby boy Harrison Scott! As all of you know, it will probably only be me getting on here and updating this blog. So please forgive me if the posts are a short and random for a while. I will be a little busy at the beginning of the year and I have to get the hang of this blogging thing :)

We are pretty busy right now getting prepared for Harrison's arrival and Christmas. I am still working and planning on working until the 3rd week of January. We will see if the baby or my doctor have other plans!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my side of the family in New Mexico. That was my last trip due to not being able to fly after 31 weeks. The flying and driving wasn't the best part of our trip....so I am not too sad about the "no fly" rule.

It was fun to see all my family that I haven't seen in quite a while. We had a great time. Scott, my brother and my Dad had tickets to the Texas Tech vs. Baylor game. It was a shockingly close game at times and had us all worried for TTU. Except my little sister...she is going to be a Baylor Bear next year! Following in the footsteps of my Grandma who attended Baylor as well. They were both excited that their team gave TTU a little bit of a challenge!
